No. Kvit is 100% offline. All your bill data is stored locally on your device using encrypted on-device storage. You can use Kvit on a plane, in the mountains, or anywhere without a data connection. No registration, no login, no cloud.
Kvit uses a greedy debt-minimization algorithm. First, it computes each person's net balance (total paid minus total owed). Then it pairs the person with the largest credit against the person with the largest debt, resolving each pair in one transfer. This guarantees at most N-1 transfers for a group of N people — the provable minimum.
Kvit supports three split modes per expense: Equal — divide the total evenly among all participants; Custom amounts — type a specific amount for each person; Partial — exclude specific people from an individual expense and split equally among the rest. Each expense in a bill can use a different split mode.
Kvit is free with unlimited bills, participants, and expenses. An optional one-time Premium in-app purchase removes all advertising. All core features — splits, calculation, sharing — are free forever.
